Public consultation started to identify three new substances as SVHCs
Sweden and Slovenia have proposed three new substances as SVHCs. The public consultation is open until 16 October 2025 and aims to gather comments on uses, exposure, alternatives and risks
26 Sept 2025Following the publication of the intention to identify three new substances as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), Sweden and Slovenia have published their respective proposals and prepared a dossier in accordance with the requirements of Annex XV of the REACH Regulation.

All interested parties are invited to submit comments by 16 October 2025. These comments should provide further information on the uses, exposure, alternatives and risks associated with the substances.
If no further comments are received, it is highly likely that the substances will be included in the Candidate List. Otherwise, the comments will be forwarded to the Member States Committee, which will attempt to reach a unanimous agreement. If this is not achieved, the final decision will lie with the European Commission.
