ECHA consults on recommending four substances for REACH authorisation
On 2nd February 2026, ECHA published the names of the four substances proposed in the 13th draft recommendation for inclusion in Annex XIV
24 Feb 2026ECHA is considering recommending the inclusion of the following substances in Annex XIV (Authorization list):

- Bumetrizole (UV-326)
- 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol (UV-329)
- Triphenyl phosphate
- 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one
The Agency invites interested parties comments by May 2, and who registered the substances covered by the proposal to verify that their dossiers are up to date, with particular reference to identified uses.
Please note that the proposal does not directly mean that the substances will be added to Annex XIV (substances subject to authorization), but it is a further step that defines their priority for future inclusion.
Generally if a substance is included in the Authorisation List, it cannot be placed on the market or used after a given date unless an authorisation is granted for a specific use. Companies that are using, manufacturing or importing these substances can apply for authorisation.
The authorisation process aims to enhance the substitution of substances of very high concern when technically and economically viable alternatives are available. Until this is achieved, the goal is to ensure proper control of risks for human health and the environment.
